Physiotherapy in Mesa and the East Valley

Here at Infinite Healing Center, we believe in relieving pain with a multi-faceted approach. Instead of just using one technique or treatment, we understand that injuries and chronic pain are as individual as each patient. That is why, in addition to chiropractic care, we also provide and recommend Physiotherapy protocols. Physiotherapy is an enormously helpful complement to chiropractic care and usually helps our patients get better and enjoy their regular activities faster.

How Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Care Accelerate Healing Together

Physiotherapy is a discipline that involves drug-free methods such as stretching, exercises, massage and other physiotherapy techniques designed to relax, retrain and recondition the muscles that have been injured in some way. Physiotherapy is useful for recovery from car accident injuries, sports injuries and personal injuries as well as repetitive stress injuries and chronic conditions that affect the movement and function of the muscles.

Physiotherapy is a strong and welcome addition to chiropractic care. Both methods are drug-free and non-invasive, but highly effective at accomplishing the goal of pain relief. Chiropractic spinal adjustments can correct spinal alignment so that pinched nerves are released and pressure is taken off of injured discs, etc. improving pain management. This removes nervous system interference and enables the brain to send important signals through the nerves to the rest of the body. Poorly conditioned muscles can pull the spine right back out of place. With Physiotherapy, however, we address the total health of the spine and body.

Our exercise therapists work directly with our chiropractors and patients to design rehabilitation programs that address their individual needs. Your exercise therapist will teach you the correct form for your individual exercises and stretches and do them with you in the office first so that you feel comfortable and confident doing them regularly at home. During regular appointments, we assess your progress and adjust exercises and stretches as necessary to keep you on target for a full recovery.

A word about form: correct exercise form is important for two main reasons. When you are performing your exercises correctly, as directed by the chiropractor, you should get the most therapeutic benefit from the work. Muscles get stronger and more flexible. Also, incorrect form can potentially cause further injury and throw your recovery out of balance. Pay close attention to form at all times.

Top 5 Physiotherapy FAQs

From auto accident injuries to sports injuries, Physiotherapy complements chiropractic care for pain management and injury rehabilitation. That’s why our chiropractors offers this important therapy at our Mesa office. Wondering if Physiotherapy is right for your health needs? Below, our chiropractor answers five of your most frequently asked questions about Physiotherapy.

#1: What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is part of our practice’s integrated approach to pain management and injury rehabilitation. This discipline uses drug-free methods such as stretching, corrective exercises massage, and other physiotherapy treatments to relax, retrain and recondition injured muscles. Physiotherapy exercises help to safely restore mobility back to the body following an injury. These treatments also help minimize inflammation, swelling and soreness.

#2: How can Physiotherapy help me after an injury?

Physiotherapy is important for restoring mobility to the body after an injury. For example, whiplash is one of the most common injuries affecting patients in our , , Mesa and  offices. After a whiplash injury, it can be incredibly painful to turn the neck from side to side and look up or down. Physiotherapy exercises will help bring mobility back to the cervical spine without aggravating the existing injury. These exercises strengthen the muscles, improve flexibility and correct improper movements that could aggravate the existing injury. Treatments also help to reduce inflammation and swelling, which speeds the recover process and enhances pain relief.

#3: How does Physiotherapy complement chiropractic care?

Together, Physiotherapy and chiropractic care offer important health benefits for the body. Chiropractic care helps restore proper spinal alignment, releasing pressure on pinched nerves and removing nervous system interference. Poorly conditioned muscles can also pull the spine out of place and limit the body’s ability to move freely. Physiotherapy programs include corrective exercises to bring strength, balance, coordination, flexibility and stability back to the body. Together, these treatments provide enhanced pain relief and support the body’s natural healing process.

#4: What should I expect during my first appointment?

During your first Physiotherapy appointment, our treatment team will assess your injury rehabilitation and pain management needs. Our chiropractor will explain how our Physiotherapy exercises can help your injury. We create a custom treatment program for every patient. Next, we will demonstrate different exercises that you can do from the comfort of your home. These exercises are critical for restoring strength, flexibility and balance. At each appointment, we will evaluate your progress and address the exercises accordingly. While you may experience some initial soreness or stiffness, this is normal and not a cause for concern.

#5: Does Physiotherapy treat back pain?

Yes, our Physiotherapy exercises can help alleviate your back pain. In addition to a spinal misalignment, weak or injured muscles can be worsening your back pain. Together with chiropractic care, Physiotherapeutic exercises help retrain these muscles to support proper posture and reduce the occurrence of back pain.
